TEF opposes hates crimes legislation because it seeks to police people’s thoughts and make criminal punishment “politically correct.”

HB 363 and 364 by Ehrhardt relates to special protection for homosexual students and teachers (Public hearing on Monday, March 22nd)

HB 383 by Chisum would ban same-sex “marriages”
HB 475 by Maxey would prohibit homosexual employment discrimination
HB 868 by Wilson and SB 439 by West would create a Texas Human Rights Protection Act
HB 913 by Thompson would prohibit homosexual employment discrimination
HB 938 by Thompson and SB 275 by Ellis are hate crimes bills labeled Byrd bills
HB 1181 by Danburg would allow adoption of children by homosexuals

 INITIATIVE & REFERENDUM (I&R)
SJR 6 by Nelson and HJR 75 by Grusendorf are constitutional amendments that would alter our form of government from a “Republic” to a “Democracy.”

 CASINOS
HJR 86 by Wilson is a constitutional amendment that would legalize casinos. Wilson also filed HB 2368 to create the bureaucracy for state-owned casinos.
