March 2020 President’s Letter

Dear Eagles,

We certainly are not living in boring times! On the national front, President Donald Trump continues to hold mega-rallies around the country as he seeks a second term, while the Democratic candidates have been whittled down to just two. Will Democratic socialist Bernie Sanders be pushed out of the nomination by a more “moderate” Joe Biden? Thankfully, the drama is all on the Democrat’s side!

In Texas, with Super Tuesday behind us, we hope many of you are preparing to attend your Senatorial Convention, serving on committees, and asking to be a delegate to the Republican State Convention in Houston, May 14–16.

If you missed taking our suggested resolutions to your precinct convention, you can still take them to your county or SD convention. They are posted on our website: texaseagle.org, as well as our website under testing: TexasEagleForum.com.

February 2020 President’s Letter

Dear Eagles,

As you will read in this month’s Torch, the issues we face in the arena of elections are heavy. A population not educated to read and think for themselves hardly understands our founding principles and the ideals that have allowed our nation to endure.

Election fraud appears to be frighteningly real. My first reaction upon understanding the issue was to be deeply disheartened; but, I soon realized that we can rally our friends on this issue. The demand for a fair outcome from our elections runs deep in our veins: so many Americans have sacrificed and given their lives for our right to select our leaders. Our Founders’ ideals are under attack on all fronts, and being able to elect like-minded people to office must be an option if we are going to have a chance to win our battles of ideas.

Please commit to watch Kevin Freeman’s “Episode #70” video (economicwarroom.com). You will not regret it, and we promise you will be glued to the screen.

What can we do about election fraud? We can spread the word and get others talking about it. We can compel our elected officials to watch the video (this is where building a relationship pays off!). We can commit to vote on the day of an election and avoid early voting, unless there is no other option. We can stand up for hand counts of paper ballots.

January 2020 Letter

Dear Eagles,

A blessed New Year to each of you! As I begin my tenure as your new Texas Eagle Forum president, I am excited to continue the mission of TEF. Our message is clear: we stand on a foundation of truth that has proven itself through all of history. Our Creator has the best plan for His creation, and we are called to steward His ideas well.

When I was growing up, I loved to read history. As I followed the life of a patriot or hero, I wanted to be strong and have the same courage they had to do the right thing. My favorites were Corrie Ten Boom, the people of the French Resistance, and our Nation’s founders…

2019 Christmas Letter

Dear Friends,

The American people are about to enter a critical presidential election year, and the sacred fire of liberty literally hangs in the balance. Will the American people give President Donald Trump four more years, or will they vote for a Democrat-Socialist who will take our country down the failed path of socialism/ communism? The choice could not be more stark.

We are in the fight of our lives for our children and grandchildren to enjoy the freedoms we have known and cherished. In order to continue turning our nation around from the eight-year scandal-ridden previous administration, and its deeply entrenched “Deep State,” as well as to keep Texas conservative, we all must be engaged in the political process in 2020.

November 2019 – From The Desk Of Trayce Bradford

Dear Eagles,

As we go into Thanksgiving and the holiday season, we thank God for faith, freedom, and family. We live in the greatest country in the world and must continue to work hard defending our values to ensure we leave a free country for our grandkids and future generations.

Houston and Dallas are still reeling from weather-related tragedies. Forty-two inches of rain from Hurricane Imelda caused immense flooding in southeastern Texas in September; and nine tornadoes ravaged Dallas neighborhoods on October 20. Please join us in praying for those who have suffered loss and trauma around the State, and pray for their protection and provision over the coming days and months as they put their lives back together…

October 2019 – From The Desk Of Trayce Bradford

Dear Eagles,

Hopefully, fall has finally made its presence known in Texas. The long summer has been emblematic of the harsh and, yes, weary behavior of our Congressional leaders in Washington. I can’t name much of anything Congress has done in the last six months for the American people, besides wasting taxpayer money trying to remove a duly-elected President…

September 2019 – From The Desk Of Trayce Bradford

Dear Eagles,

Our 2019 Legislative Scorecard, with bill descriptions and how your legislators voted, is now available on our website, www.texaseagle.org. Please note, we used several unanimous votes to give praise where praise was due, and, as a result, scores may be higher than other conservative scorecards. We do ask if you have questions regarding how your legislators voted, please contact them and share your concerns!

Here is my wrap-up of the lackluster 86th Legislative Session:

Soon after the session began, it became clear the grassroots were going to have a difficult time having their voices heard when we learned the Governor’s staff discontinued the position of Grassroots Outreach Director. Whether intentional or not, the message was sent that the Governor’s office was not concerned with what any of the grassroots groups had to say.

May 2019 – From The Desk Of Trayce Bradford

The year seems to be flying by, and the 86th Legislative Session is no exception to that fast pace. Many of us like to think Texas is a conservative leader in the Nation, but so far this session, we have not seen proof of that.

From the onset, this session has been different than the rest and, at the time of this writing, we are in a wait-and-see mode on the property tax-reform front. Instead of being fiscally conservative, Texas legislators are going on a spending spree and enlarging the size of government. And if that were not enough, they are encroaching into our everyday lives through numerous pieces of mental health legislation, including the creation of a consortium, a task force, a mental health institute, and mental health services and education at school-based health clinics. More on the mental health issue in our Summer scorecard issue

April 2019 – From The Desk Of Trayce Bradford

On March 13, in Austin, Texas, Eagle Forum joined with Concerned Women For America, Texas Homeschool Coalition, Southern Baptist Texas Convention (SBTC), Texas Apostolic Prayer Network, and Texas Values to gather at one of the largest Faith and Family Days in recent memory. A large number of newcomers attended, along with fellow patriots from around the State, to learn specific issues facing the 86th Legislative Session, including parental rights, protecting religious liberties, and pushing back on “sexual orientation” and “gender identity” issues…

February 2019 – From The Desk Of Trayce Bradford

This month, Bunni Pounds, TEF consultant, and I are writing this letter for our president, Trayce Bradford, whose Mom passed away suddenly a few weeks ago. Please pray for the Bradford family and the comfort of the Holy Spirit in their lives.

Representing Texas Eagle Forum, Bunni and I went down for the swearing in of the Texas legislators and the inauguration of the Governor and Lieutenant Governor. What a full and exciting two weeks it was!

On January 7th, again representing Texas Eagle Forum, we joined with the Texas Apostolic Prayer Network in a time of prayer…

January 2019 – From The Desk Of Trayce Bradford

It’s here! The 86th Texas Legislature is in session, and your Texas Eagle Forum has been working behind the scenes to defend our God-honoring principles. We will be working on an agenda that includes property tax reform, stiffer penalties for sex traffickers, religious liberties, immigration and the border issue, ERA, our electrical grid, and protecting the unborn. There will be opportunities to rally people in your circles of influence to call or visit their legislators, testify on issues of concern…

December 2018 – From The Desk Of Trayce Bradford

One of my favorite Christmas songs is a relatively new song by Joy Williams entitled, Here With Us. I cannot listen to that song without being deeply moved and reminded of Who we celebrate and what this holiday season truly signifies. We are so blessed as individuals, as a nation, and, most assuredly, as believers in Jesus Christ…

November 2018 – From The Desk Of Trayce Bradford

Greetings and Happy Thanksgiving! After what seemed like a never-ending election season, it is good to finally know the outcome. We had some hard losses—too many in fact—but we at Texas Eagle Forum will continue our mission to stand strong, hold the line for conservative values, and work to ensure hope and liberty in Texas. We can now say farewell to months of debate, social media temper tantrums, and even physical attacks on conservatives, and look to the future. We need leaders of industry, education, media, and especially the church, who are willing to speak truth…
